BBC Primary History supports the following topics really well with info, animated stories and quizzes: good for top KS1 and KS2. Famous People includes Florence Nightingale, Samuel Pepys, Queen Elizabeth I & II, Shakespeare, Mozart and some contemporary figures too eg. sporting Tanni Grey-Thompson and Nelson Mandela. There is also fun content on Ancient Greeks, including how the Olympic Games started, Tudors, Romans and other classic Primary topics.
Good quality educational games and videos, like BrainPOP (but it’s free!), to reward a child at the end of related homework. We especially like the Florence Nightingale content and Samuel Pepys’ Diary game which are good for Year 2. We also like the Interactive History Timeline where you can add your own key events e.g. birth of Grandma!
